Planning Unit: Perry County CES

Major Program: Civic Engagement

Plan of Work: Leadership Development

Outcome: Intermediate Outcome

Following up on my success story from this past October, due to COVID restrictions, getting into the schools and getting the word out about the introduction of this shooting sports program has proven to be somewhat difficult. However, the Shooting Sports leader and I had the belief that if we were able to get the school system to promote this program, along with local government officials, we would have a great opportunity for success. I am extremely happy to report that we have had our initial meeting with local State Representative Chris Fugate and he is very excited about the introduction of this program to Perry County. This meeting resulted in us obtaining a location where we will be allowed to shoot and has also resulted in a follow up meeting that will have two school board members in attendance. We hope that these board members will see the value of this program and it will give us the opportunity to have the support of the school system in its promotion.
