House plants have become increasing popular among those that are working from home and those staying indoors more. There are many benefits to owning house plants. Not only do house plants brighten a room but research has shown they can improve emotion, physical, and mental well-being. The problem that most people are facing when it comes caring for house plants is the proper caring for happy and healthy house plants. Ballard FCS agent taught 5 in-person lessons and posted YouTube video for viewers to go back and reference. The program discussed becoming a successful indoor gardener with proper house plant care, easy/common house plants for all beginning their house plant journey.
Thirty-eight people attended the in-person lessons, the YouTube video had eighty-two viewers. 86% of participants reported after the session that they had a basic understanding of the seven factors of healthy plant growth. 93% of those reported feeling more confident when it come to house plant care. 90% of participants said they are more willing to increase their house plant collection. One homemaker club in Carlisle county reported having a "plant swap" at their meeting; taking cuttings from existing house plants and giving them to other club members.
