Outcome: Intermediate Outcome

The Kentucky Extension Homemakers organization has fostered the leadership skills of many Kentuckian over the years including one special member in Pike County. Cathy is a retired second-grade teacher and respected community member who volunteers with her small church in a remote part of the county. After retirement, Cathy joined homemakers to stay connected with adults and to find new and exciting things to do. She quickly emerged as a leader among her individual community homemaker club as well as at the county level. Cathy sharpened her sewing skills and became trained as a Master Clothing Volunteer and is now certified in that program. She has risen to County Homemaker President and also has served as area chairman and officer for a few years. This year Cathy takes on her biggest role yet as she is now President Elect of the Northeast Area Homemakers and soon to be the Area President. It is a big responsibility and opportunity for Cathy to showcase Pike County and the leaders we have in our county. Cathy has also been selected to serve on the Pike County District Board and serves as secretary for this group. She is faithful and diligent in her duties to the board. Having a Family and Consumer Sciences leader who serves in so many capacities is a great benefit for all of us. Cathy truly represents all families when she makes decisions and serves on behalf of others. The Extension service is very grateful for her many years of accomplished leadership.
