In its 9th year of collaboration between Bath County 4-H and Bath County Community Education (in the infancy years, U. K. CEDIK supported efforts through funding, guidance, and resources), the Wildcat Leadership Council has had over 100 youth receive educational instruction since its conception. Over 85% of youth have graduated and/or currently enrolled in college or technical school, throughout the state. Numerous members have used their experience on college application, scholarship applications, and even work applications. During the spring of 2015, members and leaders of the council traveled to Nashville, TN to be part of YELP Curriculum development. This Teen Leadership Program has been the pilot/example for other similar across the state. Examples of jobs that graduates have attained since being a member are: School Teacher, Conservation Officer, Political Aide, County Fiscal Treasurer, Business Owner, Bank Loan Officer, Community Programs Developer, Construction Designer, Veterinarian, Law Enforcement, Military and many more occupations. The goals of the council is identify community needs, develop dialogue between youth and county, regional, and state leaders, develop leadership, communication, and entrepreneur skills, and much more through hands on lessons, speakers, and experience.
