Outcome: Long-Term Outcome
In the wake of COVID shutdowns and rigid social guidelines, Carlisle County, like many across the Commonwealth, was left without a county fair. After discussion with County Extension Council, Ag Council and Homemaker Council, it was decided to host a standalone event for clients to showcase their home and garden projects. FCS and ANR Extension Agents collaborated on the planning the event at the County Extension Office, titling it "Bounty of the County."
Clients brought in projects that would have been entered in the fair. Sponsorships from community partners were secured to fund premium money for placings and grand champion awards. Volunteer workers admitted entries. The first year was a success with a total of 504 entries! Those involved all expressed how much they enjoyed the event and want to continue with it next year. The Carlisle County Extension Homemakers highlighted the event at their County Annual Meeting titled "Bountiful Homemakers."
