Hopkins County 4-H collaborated with the Hopkins County Board of Education to help promote team bonding and to strengthen relationships in an office. The event “Summer Summit” benefited around 90 professionals in Hopkins County that hold title Principle, Vice Principle, Guidance Counselor, Curriculum Coordinator and many other professions in education. Summer Summit was a two day event where 4-H utilized different learning skills to help each individual grow.
Some of the activities were Lego Assembly, Magic Carpet, Balloon Tower, Personality Test, and Walking Skis. Each of the activities enlightened the group on skills that they need to become a better team member. After completing the Personality Test, they were able to understand each other better and try to focus on that individuals set of skill strengths while recognizing their own. The participants showed enthusiasm and each were willing participants to help grow their skills and knowledge. Some even took some of the activities back to their schools to build relationships with all staff.
The Summer Summit proved to be a successful with principles inviting 4-H into their schools to partner with 4-H. After the program, we completed team bonding programs with two different school teachers. We were also invited to do 4-H in school for a new 4th grade program and various science lessons with another school.
