Outcome: Initial Outcome
The Kentucky Extension Homemakers Association (KEHA) is a volunteer organization
dedicated to improving the quality of life for families and communities through education, leadership development, and volunteer service. The year 2022 marks 90 years since the organization was formed to focus on these tenets. In order to embrace this rich history, KEHA focused this year’s resource materials, with special emphasis on use for officer and leadership training sessions, on the theme of “Adventure Awaits” for the 2021-2022 KEHA year.
Graves County Extension offered the KEHA training using the “Adventure Awaits” theme in August 2021. Evaluations of the program were returned by eight participants. The training was attended by both county and club officers and county educational chairwomen. Graves County currently has three traditional homemakers clubs with one club that formed in 2019. An officer's training has not been offered in a long time and the homemakers were very grateful for the opportunity to participate in the training.
Participants were asked to complete an online evaluation survey following the class. Of the respondents, 86% indicated they learned the KEHA programming emphases for 2021-22; 75% understand results for KEHA 2019-20 reports; 86% had increased confidence with KEHA membership campaigns and incentives; and 86% learned important dates during the KEHA year.
Of the survey respondents, 86% indicated they plan to share the information from the training session with the members of their club(s); and 86% plan to use what they learned to fulfill a leadership role in their club, county, or area in 2021-22.
