The Kentucky State Fair 2021

Each year Leslie County 4-H Programming has Day Camps available for youth throughout Leslie County. 4-H spends a lot of time in the schools throughout the year and it is important to keep programming going through the summer when our youth is home. Day camps offer a special variety of activities from cooking, basket weaving, photography, sewing, needlework, expressive arts, and much more. The purpose of the day camps is to keep our youth involved, help them grow and to learn new skills. This also gives them the opportunity to submit exhibits to The Kentucky State Fair.

Over 5000 projects were submitted from 4-H youth throughout Kentucky making the 2021 Kentucky State Fair a huge success. This effort would not have been possible without youth participants, parents, Extension staff and volunteers. 2020 brought much sadness not being able to participate in the State Fair like we once did making this year’s Cloverville shine brighter and better than ever.

Leslie County 4-Hers of all ages had a total of 57 entries displayed in Cloverville at The Kentucky State Fair, August 2021.  The areas of Photography, Sewing, Arts and Crafts, Home Environment and Needlework in many class categories were submitted. Our youth enjoyed their recognition of receiving ribbons and class- champion awards!  These 4-H entries represent many projects and programs that help in shaping the lives of many 4-Hers!
