The Fayette County Champion Food Volunteers started in 2017 with a class of six. After training this year we now have 18. The program has grown and the leadership of the first group has become more evident with each day. New roles have been take on by the first class and they are leading the next group to be more involved and teaching what they have learned. Volunteers are leading and teaching more classes with limited supervision. Volunteers have commented on how their food preservation and food preparation skills have improved. They also note that the food safety skills they now have are 100% more accurate than before joining the program
