According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention only 1 and 10 adults, consume the daily recommended amount of fruit and vegetables. In Kentucky, only 8 percent of adults eat enough fruits and 6 percent of adults eat enough vegetables. In an effort to improve the quality of life for residents in Warren County the SNAP Education Assistant held many virtual and in-person workshops on the following topics Meal Planning, How to Read Food Labels, Understanding  MyPlate, Food Safety and Limiting Solids Fats, Added Sugars and Sodium. 


 Ninety-one percent of participants showed improvement in diet quality like consuming more fruits and vegetables and drinking less sugary drinks. Eight- three percent of adults showed improvement in food safety practices like proper hand washing, cooking meat to the proper temperature, and thawing foods safely. Ninety-four percent of individuals now use a grocery list and plan meals before shopping. Fifty-five percent of participants showed improvement in physical activity by exercising at least thirty minutes a day or making small changes to become more active.
