During COVID-19 the Caldwell County SNAP-Ed Senior Assistant utilized virtual resources as a way to reach limited resource audiences in Caldwell County. With the utilization of Facebook, the SNAP-ED Senior Assistant was able to reach audiences that they were not able to reach via in person programming. With the use of Facebook posts on the county Facebook page Caldwell County Nutrition Education Program, she was able to reach a larger number of Caldwell County residents including many families, single parents, children, teens, and adults.

Since January 2021, the Caldwell County SNAP-ED Senior Assistant has reached over 619 residents in Caldwell County via Facebook. This is a forty-seven percent increase from the previous year.  These Facebook posts focused on COVID 19 resources, food insecurity, food management, money management, diet quality and recipes. Individuals were given the opportunity to view recipes, food demonstration videos, and Chop Chop Newsletters. The Caldwell County Nutrition Education Facebook page also provided information regarding gardening, tips on increasing physical activity, proper hand washing techniques, meal planning tips, and "programs on the go."
