Major Program: Active Living and Health Promotions General
Outcome: Long-Term Outcome
Hancock County Cooperative Extension Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program Assistant (EFNEP) was asked to join in on a 2nd grade google meet class. This was a great opportunity to work with kids that where at home all day.
With teaching the Leap program I was able to focus on good habits the kid should be working on while at home. When the google class first started meeting the kids said they were not being physically active for at least one hour a day.
Along with the six regular lessons, the kids focused on making sure they were being physically active for at least one hour every day. ENFEP read books that gave suggestions for indoor and outdoor activities. At the end of the program the students made a 65% improvement in their responses on being physically active.
