4-H summer camps rely heavily on teen Junior Counselors (JCs) to lead younger campers and assist in daily camp operations. However, across multiple rural counties, Extension staff observed that many first-time JCs lacked the leadership skills, preparedness, and confidence needed to be effective in their roles.
