Kentucky 4-H Summit is so important to middle school aged youth. 4-H Summit helps to develop young leaders in our counties that become the leaders of tomorrow for the State of Kentucky and the Nation. 4-H maybe the start of a middle 4-her's career in Leadership, Communications, Community Development and so much more in life. 2017 4-H Teen Conference 4-H Teen Conference has been held at the University of Kentucky for 93 years. In 2017, 4-H Teen Conference attracted 536 high school 4-H’ers from 89 counties across the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Letcher County had 1- Gold Achievement Winner that was honored to attend the 2017 4-H National Congress in November in Atlanta Georgia. Nicholas Stevens is a ten year 4-H member that has applied for the achievement application each year that he is eligible and received his Gold this year. At the 2018 Volunteer Forum I was not only a part of the committee but I also had the pleasure of taking volunteers from Letcher County and getting to tag-team a class with an awesome volunteer. The class that I thought Community Service Projects and my volunteer April Back-Stevens was great! On April 24, 2018 Letcher County 4-H Partnered with multiple agencies across the county to have Safety Day for 2nd grade. The event was held at the Letcher County Extension Office. Safety Day was an awesome event that took 21 volunteers to make this event possible.
