Community Gardens

A community garden is a place to grow food, flowers and herbs in the company of friends and neighbors. For others, it's a place to access fresh, healthy food to reduce monthly food costs. While others may come to reconnect with nature or get physical exercise. This year the Woodford County Extension Agent for Horticulture partnered with Bluegrass Community Action to install the first community gardens in the City of Versailles. In the past five to 10 years, researchers estimate that pollinator populations have declined between 30 to 60%, depending on the pollinator.
