Operation Cold Hands, Warm Hearts!

What started out as a simple project for the homeless, 11 year old Avery Cole, Warren County 4-H member, has made a HUGE IMPACT on the most vulnerable residents of Bowling Green, our homeless population.  Estimates of 400-600 homeless people are living in Warren County. Avery started “Operation Cold Hands, Warm Hearts” and “Bags for Beds” after reading a report by the National Coalition for the Homeless that 700 homeless people die from hypothermia each year in

Leadership from the Ground Up

The 4-H program works from the ground up. Confidence, leadership, and independence come with time after an increase of knowledge, much practice and usually over several years.  I am especially proud of three teenagers who have been members of the Warren County 4-H Shooting Sports Program for 2-6 years.  They are officers of their club, one is a State Shooting Sports Ambassador and all three are teen shooting sports coaches. Volunteer Forum Educates over 1000 Leaders

Volunteers are the heart of the 4-H program.Extension offices across the state rely on volunteers to extend the reach of their Cooperative Extension programs. It is imperative that volunteers get the proper resources, tools and information to teach 4-H members and other extension clientele.
