Many Harrison County residents grow a vegetable garden for their family. Although the majority of the county is rural, not everyone has a great deal of space for a garden. Clientele had expressed an interest in growing more vegetables in less amount of space. Many of the questions that come into the office to the Horticulture Agent are related to fruit trees. Due to the interest in growing backyard fruit trees in Harrison County and due to the lack of knowledge of growing them, the Horticulture Advisory Council determined that a series of classes for fruit trees should be offered in the spring of 2019.
