Skills relating to home/work/families are so important. Over the years the interest and importance of family and consumer science careers has waned. This has led to the shortage of trained family and consumer sciences educators for school districts and  the Cooperative Extension Service. The extension internship program is a beneficial method for recruiting potential family and consumer sciences agents.  The Fleming County extension service has always been willing to host interns.
