Nutrition Education Programing Creates Community Partnership

LEAP is nutrition education program targeted toward headstart aged youth. Lessons range from promoting exercise to eating more fruits and vegetables. In Adair County, In 2017, according to the US Census there were 1,079 youth in Adair County ages 5 and under or nearly 20% of the population. 30.7% of Adair County families with children live in poverty also according to the Census, therefore it can be estimated that many of these children under five qualify for SNAP benefits. &n
