Since its formation in 2013-2014 program year, The Bath County 4-H Teen Council has made a lasting impression on Bath County 4-H. The core goals of this council was develop leadership skills, allow this teen group to have a say in county programming, and community service. Since 2014, over 30 high school seniors have graduated from this council. During middle school years, it is documented that youth start reaching developmental milestones in the areas of: Physical, Cognitive, Language, Social and Emotional. Youth being court ordered to complete community service and other requirements based on poor choices, isn't new to Kentucky. The need to assist youth in new strategies has been discussed and researched by multiple agencies, throughout the years. One collaborative effort that is new and multi-dynamic to Bath County to address the needs of those youth that find themselves in the courts system, is between Bath County 4-H and Kentucky Courts of Justice.Andrea Myers, Court Designated Worker
