Tornado Take-Over with 4-H

Within our city school system, we have three different elementary schools.  Each of these schools is very diverse in many different ways.  Once these youths reach the middle school all students from the three schools come together.  School teachers and administrators noticed that the youth rarely branch out and get to know other students from different schools.  Because of this, the gifted and talented teachers at each of these elementary school reached out to the McCracken C

Tornado Takeover Leadership Workshop

The Tornado Takeover Workshop consisted of participants from McNabb, Morgan, and Clark Elementary Schools. This idea was birthed from a meeting of 4-H agents, and GT Teachers. The goal of the program was to instill & foster leadership skills in current 5th graders. These students will be attending middle school next year, and we wanted them to be able to function in leadership roles, as well as secure positive relationships with other youth prior to middle school.
