A 4-H teen who had not been fully engaged in the 4-H program since 5th grade attended the 4-H Southern Regional Teen Leadership Conference (SRTLC) last year.  Making new friends from several states and growing leadership skills were just two of the things that drew him back to SRTLC again this year.A phone call to the 4-H agent volunteering to teach a workshop led to serving on the planning committee for the conference.  Working with other teens and adults in true youth-adult partnersh

Volunteers Lead Successful 9-County Program

Lyon County 4-H hosted the Pennyrile Area Communications Contest where over 50 4-H members from eight counties competed for the opportunity to participate in the state contest.  The area contest, hosted every nine years by Lyon County 4-H, requires many volunteers working together.  Twenty volunteers served as judges, eight teen 4-H members served as room hosts and a large number of Lyon County adults and teens set up rooms, served as greeters, runners and clean-up crew.
