Based on the results of the 2023 Community Needs Assessment, Lewis County Citizens perceive building financial literacy and/or resource management skills as a top 15 priority issue. Lewis County 4-H and the Lewis County Family Resource Center headed the organization and facilitation of the 4-H Dollars and Sense Program. According to America's Health Rankings, only 8.9% of Kentucky adults reported consuming two or more fruits and three or more vegetables daily in 2021. Half of all adults living in the US have conditions or chronic diseases related to poor diet and physical inactivity. Additionally, 37.7% of adults in Kentucky are classified as obese.
