Eastern Kentucky has the highest food insecurity in the United States. In Lewis County, 2,540 individuals (18.6% of county population) are not sure where their next meal will come from. There is a steady increase in interest from clientele wanting to know how they can become more self-sufficient by growing their own food. Plastic Culture Field Day

Growing crops on plastic and using drip irrigation is not a common practices used on our farms in the region. Due the planned hemp crop that will be grown using this technology, a plastic culture field day was planned to share information with area growers.
