People, animals, and plants are dependent on our Earth’s natural resources. Everything from the air we breathe, to the water we drink, to the soil we use for food production – these resources are vital to our existence. Therefore, it’s important that we care for and respect these resources. Understanding how our daily choices affect our environment, we can conserve natural resources and protect our environment for present and future generations.
- Clients will use scientific techniques, responsible practices and innovative technologies that will positively sustain the natural resources in the home, community and world.
- Client will engage in community projects related to natural resource conservation.

Kentucky 4-H Shooting Sports State Competition 2024 The annual KY 4-H Shooting Sports State Competition, the culminating event for youth participating in the 4-H shooting sports program was hosted at the Bluegrass Sportsmen’s League in Wilmore, KY on Saturday, Sept. 7th and at the Central KY Gun Club in Berea, KY on Sunday, Sept. 8th. Describe the Issue or Situation.Excess or improperly applied fertilizer is carried through stormwater runoff to creaks, streams, lakes, and rivers and contributes to nutrient pollution. Excess phosphorus promotes rapid and over abundant algae growth in freshwater, which in turn can disrupt ecosystems and negatively impact wildlife, water recreation and the health of people and pets.
