Situation:
Butler County is a small community that is economically depressed. Economic diversification, entrepreneurship, and workforce development are crucial to the improvement of Butler County’s economic future.
Long-Term Outcomes:
Butler County develops a more vibrant and diverse economy. The community is welcoming to entrepreneurs. Citizens are able to get and keep jobs.
Intermediate Outcomes:
Clients have skills to open and run small businesses. People understand the importance of entrepreneurship. Local leaders support small business ventures like they pursue large employers. Clients have job opportunities and seek them.
Initial Outcomes:
Clients learn what is required to open a small business. Clients learn what employers demand from employees. Clients learn to apply and interview for jobs.

Supporting Entrepreneurship in Butler County

Butler county leadership continues to identify entrepreneurship and economic development as important areas for cooperative extension service programming.  Greg Drake II and Butler County’s Entrepreneurial Coaching team continue to support entrepreneurship.  The county entrepreneurial coaching team has now coached twenty eight businesses.  The coaches use materials developed by UK extension specialist and agents to assist potential business owners.  The entrepreneurial
