Situation:

According to national and state rankings in science knowledge and performance Kentucky students are not adequately prepared. After discussion with administrators and teachers, Metcalfe County 4-H has administered programs that will allow students to explore science through hands on activities and real life experiences by engaging in discovery, exploration, and understanding in science, engineering and technology.

Long-Term Outcomes:
• Youth will utilize the scientific method to solve problems and critical thinking in their daily life
Intermediate Outcomes:
• Youth will use and apply the skills gained from 4-H science, engineering and technology and mentor others.
Initial Outcomes:
• Prepare students by creating building blocks of science knowledge, build interest, self-esteem and to create life-long learners.
Evaluation:
The above mentioned terms will be surveyed to see if recommended practices have been adopted.
Outcome: Intermediate outcomes will be measured
Indicator: Practices changed or adopted
Method: smart board survey, written, oral and observation
