As local communities face a critical need for self-reliance and sustainability there is a critical need for personal and organizational leadership development. The ability to visualize change as it occurs or before it becomes a reality, and develop proper responses is one of the attributes of leadership. Allen County is representative of communities across the state in its need for qualified leaders and individuals with a desire to help their community by volunteering. Individuals that acquire leadership and volunteering skills can assume more leadership roles with Extension, the local school system, government and civic organizations.
