Health 4-H Core Curriculum
Healthy living is one of three 4-H mission mandates. Components of Kentucky 4-H Health Core Curriculum include: physical activity, substance abuse, bullying, safety, and character education. Moderate physical activity can reduce
the risk of developing heart disease, diabetes, colon cancer, stress and high blood pressure. The Centers for Disease Control found that 29% of high school youth get less than 60 minutes of physical activity a day. With this finding it has led our 4-H Council to add more new health program for teens and promote health and wellness with all youth.
