Situation:
A strong community is made up of strong families. Local culture is part of our Greenup County families. Keeping local culture alive and promoting community pride is the goal of performing arts events in the community. Greenup Arts council leaders organize all events.

• Increased income for local artists and artisans
• Increased income for local business due to increased tourism

Greenup Photography Club

Major Program: Artistic Skill Development

A community request was made of the Greenup Arts Council to create the opportunity for local photographers, both amateur and professional, to come together and share their knowledge in a club setting that would be ongoing. Greenup County Extension volunteers have requested that Greenup Extension Arts Council provide educational opportunities for community members in the area of heritage arts and music. One of Greenup County's most valuable resources is our people who are willing to use and share their talents for the good of the community. Blaine Roberts has grown up as an active member of Greenup Arts. Blaine was one of the first student actors to be part of the Jesse Stuart music/drama programming when the first agent, Cora Hughes, was hired for the Fine Arts Program in Greenup County in 2008.
