Situation:

Through County Extension Leadership and reports from community partners, leadership development is a major need in today's Teens. Many have been identified as lacking effective communication and leadership skills. Youth need opportunities to develop and practice skills attained.

Long-Term Outcomes:

By improving skills and confidence of teens, opportunities will increase to display effectively. Trained young adults will take advantage of volunteer opportunities. Young adults will start addressing current and future community issues.

Intermediate Outcomes:

Youth will serve on councils and committees within Extension and community organizations. Youth will assume more leadership roles within school, life, and work. Youth will demonstrate skills within meetings they are part of.

Initial Outcomes:

Youth will learn organizational and management skills. Self Confidence will increase through experience. Youth will learn how to identify and solve issues as they arise

Evaluation:

Long-Term Outcome: Youth will volunteer, be selected, or appointed to local, state, business, or private positions

Preparing for Tomorrow's Challenges Through Club Work

In the 4th year of revitalization of Bath County's 4-H School Clubs, within the Bath County School Districts, successes in various grade levels have continue to see growth.  Program Year 2016-2017 had over 500 youth participate in at least one school club setting. Program Year 2018-2019 had over 600 youth participate in at least one school club setting.  One of this program year's goals has been on recruiting 6th Grade youth into such delivery method and it has resulted in Scie

Collaborating to Target Life Skills

Major Program: 4-H Leadership Core Curriculum

Since 2016-2017 reintegration of 4-H Club Work, within the Bath County School Districts, successes in various programming has seen growth.  In 2016-2017 over 500 youth participate in a least one school club setting.  By the end of 2019-2020 program year, close to 800 youth were enrolled in some type of school club delivery.  23 School Clubs ranging from 4th through 7th Grades were delivered, during 2019-2020.  The current program year focused more on delivering education
