Situation:

Youth in Greenup County feel that they are not a direct part of community development. Although they have talents and ideas, there is no outlet for them to engage in the community outside of their schools. Also, having three seperate high schools makes these youth unable to regularly work together. The Greenup Extension Arts Council has identified the need to focus on incorporating youth input. This led to the creation of Youth Voices for Creative Arts (YVCA) in Greenup County. These youth are teacher recommended through school, homeschool, or private arts studio instructor. They meet and communicate regularly and participate as volunteers in Greenup Arts events. YVCA has a yearly project of their own that will connect them with the community.
