Empowering Community Leaders (general)
Building the capacity of volunteer leaders within counties is critical for the sustainability of a community infrastructure that supports long term commitment to strengthen families. In Gallatin County there are groups of volunteer leaders within each discipline who share their expertise, and volunteer time with youth and families in their community. Through the efforts of the agents, paraprofessionals, and volunteers local citizens are engaged, educated and empowered to understand family and community issues and take ownership of implementing local solutions.

• Gallatin County health and economy are strengthened through strong local organizational leadership
• Increase the number of those who practice personal leadership skills in clubs, schools and community outreach.

Major Program: Kentucky Extension Homemaker Association
The Gallatin County Extension Homemaker organization is the largest civic and volunteer organization in Gallatin County with 202 members. Extension Homemakers work to improve the quality of life for their families and communities through leadership development, volunteer service and education. Gallatin County Extension Homemakers are active and involved with the Kentucky Extension Homemaker Association at the Northern Kentucky Area and State level. Gallatin County Extension Homemakers

Major Program: Community Engagement
Gallatin County Cooperative Extension Service, the City of Warsaw, and Gallatin County Tourism collaborated to host the second annual Peony Spring Festival in downtown Warsaw at the Courthouse Square.Activities included a 5K, 4H breakfast, horse and carriage rides, Queen City Riverboat rides, an antique tractor show, an inflatable fun zone for the kids, live music, vendors, and educational workshops.The Gallatin County Cooperative Extension Service also took lead and organized the 31 vendors for
