Situation:

Allen Citizens are similar to other residents in the Commonwealth need to observe safety practices int he home and at the workplace. Forty-two percent of Allen county's population is either below 19 years of age or above 65 years of age. These two age groups that are highly susceptible to accidents in the home/school/workplace. Farm operators often ignore basic safety procedures while performing routine farm practices. In addition, men, women, and children need to incorporate disease prevention practices, including cardiovascular and cancer screenings for proactive healthy lifestyles

Long-Term Outcomes:

*Allen County clientele will observe safety practices during daily activities. *Clientele will participate in preventative health testing

Intermediate Outcomes:

* Allen county clientele will implement Extension recommended safety practices during daily activities.

* Clientele will participate in preventive health testing

Initial Outcomes:

* Clientele obtain knowledge on how to safely perform their daily activities. * Clientele will increase awareness and knowledge of the prevention practices in an effort to improve their long term health and quality of life.

Evaluation:

Initial Outcome: Clientele gain knowledge and awareness of recommended practices in handling and using pesticides

Indicator: Number of individual completing pesticide applicator training

Method: Show of hands or post meeting survey

Timeline:Spring


Intermediate Outcome: Allen County clientele will participate in health screenings

Indicator:number of screening tests completed

Method: Data from participant survey

Timeline: April-May


Long-term Outcome: Preventive health diagnostic screenings result in an increase in positive disease treatment

Indicator: Number of screening tests completed with data collection leading to successful corrective activity or treatment
