Social Connections

I have been at the University of Kentucky and Cooperative Extension since 1985. Originally from Texas, I received my B.S. degree from Texas Tech University, and my M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from New Mexico State University.

My first assignment in the College of Agriculture, Food and the Environment at the University of Kentucky was as the Extension Horse Specialist. In that role, I oversaw all adult and youth equine programming within the state, taught undergraduate equine courses and managed the teaching/research horse facility. Since that first assignment I have assumed many roles with in the College of Agriculture Food and the Environment. All assignments involved the use of the latest technology in the creation and deployment of educational programming. I have developed and delivered award winning educational web-based material for K-12 students as well as post-secondary students. My expertise and ability to integrate the latest technologies in educational programming and in developing award winning educational programs has allowed me to be successful and spurred the idea of the Wittyhorse and my involvement in Extension Horses, Inc.

I am currently member of the Executive Committee and serve as President of the American Paint Horse Association (APHA). I hold an APHA judge’s card and have judged their Youth World Show. I also own, show, and breed American Paint horses.
