An applied forage research trial in Powell County KY examined the effect of potassium addition to a hay field testing ‘Very Low in potassium according to UK soil testing standards. Results from the study have shown excellent yield and botanical composition improvement (less broomsedge and more desirable forage species) from fertilizing with potassium according to UK soil test recommendations.
