The 28th Annual Basket Seminar was held at General Butler Resort State Park June 25-29. Sixty-classes were taught by 12 paid teachers. There were 137 people in attendance which included 126 registered students for classes. Furthermore, 63% say that arts experiences are uplifting, and 73% think the arts contribute something positive to the world ( Americans for the Arts). The problemPike County is the largest county in Kentucky. Pike County Extension Community Arts is always looking for ways to take arts programming into remote areas of the county because clients can't always come to the Extension office. Programming has traditionally been aimed toward young children or teens. Many people find that spending time "crafting" enhances mental wellbeing, creates community connections, and can be a creative outlet for anyone of any age.
