Pike County Cooperative Extension Fine Arts program again partnered with Artists Collaborative Theatre in Elkhorn City to offer a tuition free after school theatre program for students K – 12 grades. Greenup County has a rich heritage of talented and creative people. Although the arts are valued by most parents as an important component of the whole person, many of our local schools have reduced the availability of arts instruction and participation programs to students. Greenup Arts is bridging the gap by offering a newly formed Creativity Club for students in grades 4 through 8. Treyton Blackburn, currently a student at the University of Kentucky, has a long and successful acting resume to show for his relatively short involvement in the performing arts. Blackburn first came to Artists Collaborative Theatre in 2011 at age 14 to participate in a production of Grease. The Family and Consumer Sciences Agent has, for years, formed a coalition with our local artists. Butler County has a rich heritage of talented and creative people.
